ASTM/ASME 2507 Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are super duplex (austenitic-ferritic) grade products (UNS S32750) conforming to ASTM A790/A928 standards, featuring a high-alloy composition with 24-26% chromium, 6-8% nickel, 3-5% molybdenum, and 0.24-0.32% nitrogen for exceptional strength (≥550 MPa yield) and corrosion resistance (PREN ≥42). This premium-grade material delivers superior performance in extreme chloride and sour environments, offering approximately twice the pitting resistance of standard 2205 duplex and approaching nickel alloy performance in many aggressive media. The optimized microstructure (balanced 50/50 phase ratio) ensures outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking and erosion-corrosion, making it ideal for offshore oil/gas umbilicals, seawater cooling systems, and chemical process equipment operating under high pressure and temperature (up to 300°C/572°F). With full compliance to NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for sour service, 2507 pipes/tubes are particularly specified for critical applications like subsea pipelines, desalination plants, and FGD systems where maximum durability against localized corrosion and sulfide stress cracking justifies its premium over standard duplex grades, while maintaining excellent weldability with proper procedures.
