ASTM/ASME 410J1 Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are modified martensitic (UNS S41041) products conforming to ASTM A213/A268 standards, featuring enhanced chromium (11.5-13.5%) and controlled carbon (0.08-0.18%) composition with nitrogen addition for improved strength and corrosion resistance over standard 410 grade. This optimized martensitic alloy achieves higher yield strength (up to 850 MPa after heat treatment) while maintaining better toughness and weldability characteristics, making it particularly suitable for turbine blades, compressor components, and high-stress mechanical parts in power generation and oil/gas equipment. The nitrogen-enhanced microstructure provides superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in mildly aggressive environments, with maintained oxidation resistance up to 700°C (1290°F). This grade represents an advanced evolution of traditional 410 stainless steel, offering engineers a balanced solution for applications demanding both enhanced mechanical performance and moderate corrosion resistance in elevated temperature service conditions.
