This heat-treatable alloy achieves high tensile strength (up to 760 MPa yield after hardening) while maintaining good ductility in the tempered condition, making it particularly suitable for mechanical components, pump shafts, and valve trim in mildly corrosive environments. The material offers satisfactory resistance to oxidation up to 650°C (1200°F) and demonstrates better thermal conductivity than austenitic grades, though requires post-weld heat treatment to restore corrosion resistance.
