ASTM/ASME 316L Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are low-carbon (≤0.03% C) molybdenum-alloyed austenitic (UNS S31603) products conforming to ASTM A312/A213/A269 standards, featuring optimized 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum content for exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-rich environments. This stabilized grade prevents carbide precipitation during welding, making it particularly suitable for welded constructions in chemical processing equipment, marine applications, and pharmaceutical systems where both corrosion resistance and structural integrity are critical, while maintaining excellent toughness down to cryogenic temperatures and superior acid resistance compared to standard 316 grade.
