ASTM/ASME 2003 (UNS S32003) Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are lean duplex grade products conforming to ASTM A790/A928 standards, featuring a nitrogen-alloyed chromium (19.5-22.5%) and manganese (3.0-4.0%) composition with optimized nickel (3.0-4.0%) and molybdenum (1.0-2.0%) content for enhanced corrosion resistance (PREN ≥30) while maintaining cost efficiency. This advanced lean duplex alloy delivers approximately twice the yield strength (≥450 MPa) of standard 304L/316L grades with superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting in chloride environments, making it ideal for chemical processing, water treatment, and oil/gas applications. The controlled ferrite-austenite phase balance (40-60%) ensures good weldability and impact toughness down to -50°C (-58°F), offering a durable, nickel-optimized solution for structural components, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels where both mechanical performance and moderate corrosion resistance are critical. Compliant with NACE MR0175 for mild sour service, 2003 duplex provides a cost-performance bridge between austenitic and standard duplex grades for demanding industrial applications.
