This economical duplex alloy delivers superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking and moderate pitting resistance (PREN ≥26) in chloride environments, making it ideal for structural components, water systems, and industrial equipment where both mechanical performance and moderate corrosion resistance are required. The optimized ferrite-austenite microstructure provides good weldability and thermal stability up to 250°C (482°F), offering a nickel-saving alternative to austenitic grades for applications like chemical transport, pulp/paper processing, and architectural structures exposed to mildly corrosive conditions, though with reduced low-temperature toughness compared to standard duplex grades. |
