ASTM/ASME 347H Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are high-carbon (0.04-0.10%) niobium-stabilized austenitic (UNS S34709) products manufactured to ASTM A213/A312 standards, combining controlled carbon content with niobium stabilization (10×C min.) to deliver enhanced creep strength and intergranular corrosion resistance for high-temperature service up to 900°C (1650°F). This grade maintains the base 347 alloy's chromium (17-19%) and nickel (9-12%) composition while providing superior structural stability in pressure-containing applications such as superheaters, refinery tubing, and power plant systems where prolonged exposure to temperatures in the sensitization range occurs. The niobium-carbon formation ensures immunity to carbide precipitation during welding or thermal cycling, making 347H particularly suitable for fabricated components requiring both elevated temperature strength and reliable corrosion resistance in aggressive industrial environments.
