ASTM/ASME 329J1 Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are duplex (austenitic-ferritic) grade products (UNS S32906) conforming to ASTM A790/A928 standards, featuring an optimized microstructure with 23-28% chromium, 3-6% nickel, and 1-3% molybdenum for enhanced corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. This advanced duplex alloy offers superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting (PREN ≥35) in aggressive chloride and sour environments, while delivering approximately 2x the yield strength (≥550 MPa) of conventional austenitic grades. The balanced composition provides excellent weldability and thermal stability for applications in offshore oil/gas systems, chemical processing plants, and seawater handling equipment where both high structural integrity and exceptional corrosion performance are required under demanding service conditions up to 300°C (572°F).
