ASTM/ASME 329 Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are duplex (austenitic-ferritic) grade products (UNS S32900) conforming to ASTM A790/A928 standards, featuring a balanced microstructure with high chromium (25-28%) and moderate nickel (3-6%) content plus 1-2% molybdenum for exceptional stress corrosion cracking resistance and double the yield strength of standard austenitic grades. This duplex alloy delivers superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments, making it ideal for chemical processing equipment, oilfield piping, and marine applications where both high mechanical strength (620 MPa min. yield) and corrosion resistance are required, while maintaining good weldability and thermal conductivity up to 300°C (572°F) for demanding industrial service conditions.
