ASTM/ASME 317L Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are low-carbon (≤0.03% C), high-molybdenum austenitic (UNS S31703) products manufactured to ASTM A312/A213/A269 standards, featuring enhanced chromium (18-20%), nickel (11-15%), and molybdenum (3-4%) content with nitrogen addition for exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in aggressive chloride and sulfuric acid environments. This stabilized grade delivers superior performance in chemical processing, pollution control equipment, and marine applications where standard 316/L alloys prove inadequate, offering approximately 50% greater pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) than 316L while maintaining excellent weldability and intergranular corrosion resistance for welded constructions in the most demanding corrosive service conditions.
