ASTM/ASME 309S Stainless Steel Pipes & Tubes are high-alloy austenitic (UNS S30908) products conforming to ASTM A312/A213 standards, featuring elevated chromium (22-24%) and nickel (12-15%) content for superior oxidation resistance and thermal stability in continuous service up to 1150°C (2100°F). This low-carbon variant (≤0.08% C) of 309 grade exhibits exceptional resistance to sulfidation and thermal cycling, making it particularly suitable for heat treatment equipment, furnace components, and high-temperature process piping systems where cyclic heating and corrosion are prevalent. The alloy's balanced composition provides better high-temperature strength than standard 304/310 grades while maintaining good weldability and formability characteristics for fabrication of complex high-heat industrial components.
